Locally owned and operated
since 1913

Welcome to the ‘Working Museum Online’! The Dewey Cheatem & Howe exhibit was created by Jerry Core, Owner of Inyo-Mono
Title Company during the remodel of
873 North Main Street in Bishop, California. The working museum is
located in the lobby and enjoyed by all who enter. The museum's name
came from an old 3 Stooges movie and both Jerry Core and Richard
Harries thought this would be a fun addition to the remodel. It is
clear to see the humor of the owner and the Chief Title Officer.
All of the artifacts in the museum have been collected by
Jerry Core and reveal the colorful history of the Owens Valley and
Eastern Sierra. Included in the exhibit are photos and maps dating
back to 1860, a turn of the century typewriter and original type-set
desk and law books as far as the eye can see. Look closely at the
smaller relics and you might spot a rusty revolver, numerous scales to
weigh precious stones and a crocodile skull (one of the only
non-native pieces in the museum!).
The included photos are complements of the Tyler
Core IMTC Photograph Gallery. All images are copyrighted and may only
be used with written consent.
